Little August Favorites!

Can you believe it’s the end of August already?!

This month has been a little boring favorites wise, mainly due to the fact that I didn’t buy too many new products and what I have used tended to be a little samey.

But regardless! Here’s a few things I’ve been enjoying.

1. Soap & Glory All is Calm Green Colour Corrector £8.I’ve mentioned this in a post before regarding colour correcting (see here) I use this pretty much all the time. Used under your base, be it BB Cream or Foundation this little guy removes redness without showing through base products or changing the consistency or finish.  I haven’t ever saw this in store but I purchases mine from the boots website. Get it here!

2. Estée Lauder Doublewear Compact in Ecru  1 £33. I’m not gonna lie, I really didn’t like Doublewear foundation. I couldn’t get a colour that matched and it was just too matte and full coverage for me. This however is gorgeous! It has a dewy finish and is light to medium finish. Only downside is it is quite costly and you get less product than you do usually in a foundation ( 12ml instead of 30ml)

3. Lime Crime Perlees lipstick in Lady (limited edition sorry!)  This came out for valentines however I’m in love now. Not too much to say about this other than its stunning. Reds are easily my favorite lip colour and this is one of the prettiest. It’s a strawberry red and is a pearly metallic. It’s so pretty on super pale skins. It’s no longer on the website but other colours are. See here! The swatch just doesn’t do it justice!

Two Korean brands this month…sorry! They just do it better!

1. Neogen Real Fresh Foam Cleanser Cranberry £14.49. I’ve only just began using this but I really am enough it. Made for sensitive skin this foam cleanser claims to be non irritating and wash away impurities with cranberry water and natural nutrients. It certainly doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry atall. It also has real cranberrys in the bottom. Preserved perfectly by the cleanser itself. Anti aging much?

2. Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid £16.01. This is a treatment applied to skin after cleansing and toning. Made to be used on the blackhead / acne prone areas of your face for me my nose mostly. BHA stands for Beta Hydroxy Acid and helps with exfoliation and fighting breakouts. With 4% Betaine Salicylate (the BHA ingredient) it is gentle enough for normal skins daily. Those with more sensitive skin may have to use it less. If interested please read more on this product, it’s amazing, with noticeable difference in spots, pores and blackheads within days. My skin texture has greatly improved thanks to this holy grail product!

I’m doing the #septemberskinchallenge next month- a different product each day. Look out for this! I will post weekly on here and daily on my Instagram I’m so excited to do this, I adore skincare! Tag along!

I’m currently reading The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe. A big Marilyn fan since my early teens there isn’t much I didn’t already know in this book but it is written beautifully. They recently turned this book into a 2 part drama on tv under the same name and it was also fantastic. Worth a read.

On Netflix I went from one extreme to another. I have been enjoying the K drama – Atelier. It’s cheesey comical and entertaining. I’ve been enjoying it!

I also finished the second series of Scream this month also! Roll on October! Did you guys guess the killer?

I hope your having a lovely day, it’s super sunny here!

Three days in Brighton.

My post this week is a little later than usual. Me, my fiancé and best friend took a short break to one of my favourite places. Brighton! This is what we got up to…

Day 1:

Its quite a journey from where we live to Brighton so by the time we arrived it was already 2pm. We checked into our hotel and decided that beings as it was a lovely day we would take a trip down to the beach first which was super super packed. We took a walk down the pier and had our first ice cream of the trip. By then it was time for food so we searched the town, did a bit of shopping and settled on Zizzi’s – an Italian restaurant for dinner. Grabbed a couple of drinks from a corner shop and headed back down to the hotel to watch the greatest show on earth right now – The Great British Bake Off!

Day 2:

Was a busy one! Started off by grabbing brunch at Bills, one of my favourite places for breakfast! Their buttermilk pancakes are like no other and the water melon juice smoothie thing is the greatest! I cannot remember what it is actually called for the life of me!

We then took a trip down the Lanes for shopping and visited my all time favourite antique/jumble sale shop – Snoopers Paradise. It sells all things strange and old, creepy and retro. We spent a good hour or so mooching around that place.

My best friend and fiancé are massive comic book fans so we discovered a store called Daves Comics. Again we spent ages in this shop. Selling everything from manga to funko’s, DC to Marvel and a whole lot of lesser known indie comic labels. Pretty sure that we all spent a fair bit of money there.

We also nipped into this awesome little clothing shop called The Family Store. It sold awesome tshirts one of which my fiancé had and loads of patches and pins. I picked up a patch and two new pins from this shop (the cat and relativity stable ones) The guys there were lovely and they were playing some rad music that day!

Next stop was The Brighton Toy Museum. This was tiny and quite expensive to visit considering it is only one room at £6.50 each, but it was still cute and a little creepy.

Some of the toys were frightening i.e that dog thing with the creepy eyes!

It consisted mostly of model trains and cars. Hey it killed some time!

By this time it was about 3 and we were feeling hungry. We grabbed a bag of chips to share and headed to the beach again – we had really great weather! The then resided to the bars on the sea front to chill and a couple of drinks and wait for dinner time! We went to Wagamamas on the way back to the hotel much later on and all chilled and watched the new Killing Joke animated movie.

Day 3:

Last day! After grabbing breakfast at Costa we walked down to the new British Airways i360 viewing tower on the sea front. I say new as it wasn’t there last year when we went. It costs £15 each and takes you 450ft into the air so you can see the whole of Brighton and hove. You get pretty high up haha! The ride lasts around 20 minutes and you do wish you could stay up there longer.

When you exit it leads you into the beach right in front of the old pier which burnt down. It’s a skeleton now and it’s beautiful. It looks like a dance hall for ghosts and I took a ton of photos it’s just so lovely. I’m glad they feuded to let it stand. It’s like a piece of art now.

As we had a long journey back we had to leave fairly early so we grabbed some sandwiches and took then to the Pavillion gardens to eat. There was a busker playing an acoustic guitar and the sun was shining which made is such a lovely end to the trip. None of us were ready to leave.

The car journey home we were stuck in bank holiday delays and it took a total of 7 hours around 4 of which we were stood virtually still in traffic. Needless to say we were very glad to get out of the car the other end!  But we really had a lovely time   I can’t wait to go back.

August Empties!

I’ve finished up quite a lot of products this month already, so I thought it about time I did an empties post!

The majority of it is skincare related however there’s a few other things so let’s begin!

A lot of these are favorites so I have already repurchase 2 of these. The first being Lush Cosmetics Celestial Facial Moisturiser (£14.95). This is my absolute favorite moisturiser, it’s just so perfect fast absorbing, light but packs a punch in the moisturising field. Affordable and natural a holy grail.

The second one I’ve repurchased is The Body Shop Calomile Silky Cleansing Oil (£10.00). This has since got new packaging but is still the same holy grail product, all makeup is dissolved in seconds with this, super smooth and great to do a good facial massage with.

This month I also used up my Lush Cosmetics Twilight Shower Gel. This was a Lush Kitchen product so it isn’t currently available. I think it cost me around £12. Twilight is my favorite sent lush does, it’s predominately lavender and bergamot, I find is so soothing and relaxing. Very sad this is finished.

The Origins Original Skin Serum (£32.00) was also finished this month. I really like this serum, it is smoothing brightening and aimed at younger skins (early twenties) I would repurchase this however I’m currently trialing one out now to review which I’m really liking stay tuned!

The final one in the skincare category is Nivea Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover (£1.94). This is a very average product but it does an ok job. It won’t remover tough waterproof makeup like it states but it does in conjunction to other cleansers such as The Body Shop one previously mentioned. Not the best but it’s ok – defiantly better than a makeup wipe!

Makeup and Hair

Only two in this category. The first being Dior Skin Nude Foundation (£32.50)I have purchased this multiple times and I adore it (flawless and satin in every way) however I don’t feel inclined to buy it again, there’s so many new products on the market now I’m intrigued to try something new. I’m also trying to reduce the amount of products I use that test on animals and there’s so many amazing brands to explore!

I also used up the Garnier Ultimate Blends Honey Hair Mask (£4.49).It was ok and super affordable, left my hair soft but I wouldn’t say deeply nourished. Do any of you guys have any hair masks you swear by? I’m in search of one!

Hope your all having a lovely day!

July Favorites

Hello lovelies!

It’s that time again! Didn’t July fly past! This month had a lot of rediscovering old favorites along with a few new. So without further a do lets get on with it!

1 – Sheet Masks

Out of all the things I enjoyed this month, sheet masks have been my favorites. Instant skin pick me ups, powerful serums and ranging in affordability. All of these masks are Korean – they do skincare best and range in price from about £2 to £6. I need to come clean and say I may have a mask addiction… Ive around 50 various masks now! I’ve purchased these from numerous places most often, Amazon, eBay and

2 & 3 – Nars Sheer Glow and The Bodyshop Lip & Cheek Stains

I’ve had a on off relationship with Nars Sheer Glow, I use it for months, forget about it, find it and love it again. I’m in the shade Mont Blanc at the moment and I’m loving it. Just enough coverage, natural finish, long lasting! Only downside, no SPF.

As for The Body Shop Tints I’ve mentioned these before. They are just so versatile and portable, the shade range is amazing and for £8 I adore them. When I say these things last, they last. Pink Hibiscus has to be my fave.

4 – Sleek Blush by 3 Palette in Lace

This Sleek Blush Compact was super cheap at just under £10, however the products themselves are lovely and suprisingly big! I would easily compare these to MAC blushes – with the added bonus  of being cruelty free. Though very bright in the pan these are actually very soft but buildable, a little goes a long way. The middle shade “Guipure” has been said to be a dupe for Nars “Orgasm”, which I can confirm is very much alike.  In fact the whole range of these blushes are gorgeous and i will be purchasing more.

5. Neogen Wine Bio Peel Pads

Another Korean brand however if you live in the states you might have seen these in Sephora. These are chemical peel pads, so not great for those with really sensitive skin. They are AHA Acid exfoliator which help Slough off dead skin and impurities. I love these and do find them to be gentle yet effective plus they smell great and are cruelty free. I really have seen a difference when I use these, my skin is smoother, softer appearing in texture and overall more glowy.  I purchased mine off of Soko Glam (they ship to UK) here, follow the link for more information on the product if your interested.

6 & 7 – Tisserand Sweet Dreams Aromatherapy Roller Ball and a sweet find!

This little roller ball oil blend smells like heaven to me (lavender) and really does help me to unwind and drift off to sleep. I’ve posted about these aromatherapy oils before and I really do love them a lot. This one came in a survival set of 3. And since purchasing months ago I never leave the house without one of them. If you suffer with anxiety I really cannot recommend aromatherapy enough.

And finally! I finally got one of the Peter Rabbit 50p’s! I’ve been wanting one since they came into circulation. Beatrix Potter was such a big part of my childhood. This coin is a little bartered but I still smiled when I got it haha!

What did you love last month? I can’t wait to hear from you! Have a lovely day.
